Living with Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) can feel isolating, confusing and overwhelming, particularly when symptoms disrupt work, relationships, self-esteem and everyday functioning.
This discussion brings together lived experience and clinical navigation to create a grounded, validating space to explore what PMDD actually looks like in real life, and how women can better understand, manage and advocate for themselves while living with it.
Hosted by Elevelle founder Jenny Fairhurst alongside Annika Waheed, PMDD Patient Expert and women’s health advocate, the session covers:
- What PMDD is (and isn’t), and why it’s often misunderstood or misdiagnosed
- The emotional, cognitive and physical impact of PMDD across the cycle
- Navigating healthcare: preparing for GP and specialist appointments, understanding options, and advocating for appropriate support
- Practical strategies for self-support, boundaries and self-compassion during difficult phases
- Creating language and understanding that helps you explain PMDD to others
This is not a medical consultation, but an informed, compassionate conversation designed to help women feel less alone, more validated, and better equipped with knowledge they can use.
